CBC video on Dominic Moore and his late wife Katie

I was exercising in the school gym last Saturday, when an interview piece on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada got me to put down my weights and walk up to the tiny television hanging from the ceiling. The other four people in the gym also stopped what they were doing.

The interview was with New York Rangers forward Dominic Moore about his wife Katie who died in January 2013 from cancer.

The interview, conducted by Elliotte Friedman, was heartbreaking, inspirational and a great example of quality journalism in sports.

The NHL will release the finalists for the Masterton trophy over the next couple of weeks. The trophy is given to the player who "best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey."

I am sure Moore will be a finalist.
